Labor Relations & Regulations Committee
Works with Congress and government agencies to advance agricultural employer’s interests during the development of employee benefits legislation and regulations, keeps Members informed of these developments, and coordinates industry and Council comments on such actions. The scope of this committee includes the responsibilities of the previous EPA/OSHA Committee (also known as Workplace Health and Safety Committee) and deals with all labor, employment relations, and regulatory issues.
Monitors and keeps Members informed of legislative and regulatory initiative related to the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA). The Immigration Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on Council positions and develops comments and testimony designed to further Council goals. Includes Immigration Reform issues and serves as primary liaison with ACIR coalition.*
Monitors and keeps Members informed of legislative and regulatory initiative related to Agricultural Temporary Guest Worker programs (H-2A). This committee also makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on Council positions and develops comments and testimony designed to further Council goals.*
Develops programs to increase and retain membership in the Council.
Administers the procedures for review of Board Member conduct on behalf of the Board of Directors. Complaints may be made and transmitted by any person to the Chairman, any members of the Committee, or any officer or director of NCAE, including the NCAE Executive Vice President.
Responsible to the Board of Directors for the principle financial planning of the association. The Finance Committee submits a yearly budget recommendation for consideration of the Board of Directors and plans the Member dues structure for the Council.
Responsible for developing a slate of candidates for NCAE’s officers once every two years. The full Board of Directors approves these nominees for two-year terms at the NCAE Annual Meeting in odd-number years.
